Much has been said about the Word of Faith, but is the
much saying based on the truth. The tactic and the spirit
behind the critics of the Word of Faith is highly
suspicious. The effort is relentless. The cut and paste
journalism, misquotes, false implications, out of context
quotations, misrepresentation of facts, and the list goes
on. It is the desire of many Bible scholars who have sat
quietly on the sidelines to simply present the truth in
love.
Are you ready for the challenge? Are you willing
to be a Berrien, willing to think for yourself, to
research the scriptures, and most of all not to allow the
fear mongers to seduce you. You will see how those that
oppose the Word of Faith use ungodly means to produce
their intended end.
Let's pray: Dear heavenly father we come to
You in the
precious name of Jesus and ask you to open the eyes of our
understanding so that we may see and know the truth. You
said that the spirit of truth would guide us into all
truth. So we trust the Holy Spirit to show us from Your
word what is truth. We know that the Word and the Spirit
agree. Amen.
Disclaimer. I want to make it perfectly clear that
there are many ministers that are under the banner of Word
of Faith that have done and said some things that are not
right. It is not possible to defend them all, nor should
they all be defended. It is to God that all of us must
give an account. Kenneth Hagin always said that there is a
lot of Word of Faith teaching that is not Word of Faith
out there. I was raised Baptist. Thank God for the
Baptists, but there was a lot going on in that camp that
would have made your hair stand up on your head.
Dispelling the darkness. There is growing evidence in
the field of medicine that there are cures and answers for
a lot more than we are being told. There are biblical
answers to a lot of questions you may have about the Word
of Faith that are being suppressed for various reasons as
well.
Proverbs 6:16-19 (NLT) There are six things the Lord
hates, no, seven things he detests: haughty eyes, a lying
tongue (or pen, or web site), hands that kill the
innocent, a heart that plots evil (or writes an
evil plot in book form), feet that race to do wrong (or race to
sell and publish the next lie), a false witness who pours
out lies, a person who sows discord in a family, (or the
body of Christ).
When it comes to the critics, the Pharisees, the self
acclaimed watchman I could have underlined all 3 verses. I
believe that there are some that meant well, like the
Pharisees of old, they saw Jesus opposing their doctrine
and branded him heretical. Their eyes could not see past
the blinders they imposed on themselves, they never
examined the Word of God to see for themselves the beauty
of the living Christ.
I call all watchmen, discernment ministries, Christian
researchers, heresy hunters to repentance. All those who
refuse to examine the full context of the Word of Faith
and leave out crucial information that would certainly
shed a fairer light on the men and woman of God who are
bringing the word to multitudes.
