How important it is to understand predestination and the will of God for every man. Taught incorrectly, predestination sounds somewhat like this; that God has this certain plan and He has selected a few people and the rest He has rejected. If you are one of the fortunate ones, because of predestination, you get selected and get to be with Him throughout all eternity. If not - tough luck. There is more bad news in this teaching. In it, God can do whatever He wants to, anytime He wants to, to whomever He wants to (and it is always something evil). But you better not complain because He is testing you so just grin and bear it, or else. I grew up under teaching like that. It caused great fear in my life. I didn't want to get married or have children because God could kill them or allow them to be killed anytime and take them to heaven for the choir. It was said that God knows best, and that it was His sovereign will to work something out in your life.
Can you imagine having to sit your children down and say, "Children, I hate to inform you that God may not have predestined one of you. So, you are not selected to spend eternity with Him but with the devil and his fallen angels." WRONG. It would seem that only the ones applying this teaching are the predestined ones who have it made in the shade. I want everyone to know that the gospel means good news to EVERY human being. John 3:16 says, "God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER believeth in Him shall be saved." God is so awesome, so powerful, so loving. His attributes are endless. Wonderful is the only way that one can describe our loving heavenly father. I'm so glad that He took great care in His wisdom to write down who He is and gave it to us in 66 books and called it, the Bible. He also told us to rightfully divide the word of God so we don't see things incorrectly. He sent Jesus who told us that when we see Jesus we have seen the Father. Jesus went around healing all that He could and loving on everyone that wanted some. In Romans 8:20 it says, "For those whom He foreknew, of whom He was aware and loved..." (Amp.) This verse would include everyone because according to Psalms 139:13-17 He knew you as you were being formed in your mothers womb. He also says in verse 16 that all your days were written before they took shape, and verse 17 says how precious and weighty (good) are His thoughts to me, they are more than sand by the sea. Guess what - every one of those thoughts and plans for you is good. God never planned a rape, a murder, a car wreck, a bank robbery, etc... Then why do they happen you ask? It's because there is a thief, Satan, who comes to steal kill and destroy (John 10:10). Jesus came that you might have the life back that God intended for you in all the planning He did from the beginning of days. The plan is redemption, which means to be bought back and restored to original condition. You repent, which is to stop that which you are doing that is not OK with God - turn 180 degrees in your thinking. Think right according to the original plan of God, which is fullness of life. Think with your mind and believe in your heart. You put on God's mind. Put on God's armor, resist the thief and he will flee from you. You have the choice. It says in Romans 8:1 not to walk according to the dictates of the flesh. Not the old stinky way of sin and wrong thinking, bad attitudes, trouble, etc... but the dictates of the Spirit which is God's way of giving you what He has for you... and it is ALL good. So you see there are always two paths to follow: the way of life and peace which God has planned for you every day; or the way of destruction, which you might choose and in so doing, give the devil access to your life. Predestination, put simply, is that you were predetermined to be conformed or molded into the shape of Jesus (see Romans 8:29). If you accept this challenge you will begin to act like him, have joy like him, have peace like him, and have a life fulfilled with abundance and purpose like him. Wow Wow Wow!!! Call on Jesus right now - Romans 10:9-10 - to start your new life today.
