It is very clear from Scripture that Saturday was the day of the Sabbath. There is no such thing as turning your Sunday into a Sabbath. Many Christians have tried to pull scriptures together to justify keeping a Sabbath on a Sunday. It doesn't work, and it should not be a concern to any born-again Christian to keep the Sabbath anyways. Never ever was a gentile Christian ever told by the Lord or any other New Testament book to keep a Sabbath the ways the Jews of the old covenant did. Those that teach Sabbath keeping are falsely adding an abolished system to the Law of Christ. Christians keep the Law of Christ which is superior, 1 Cor. 9:21, Gal 6:2.

Some Sabbath keeps say that Adam, Noah, and Abraham kept the Sabbath, yet the Ten Commandments and the Sabbath did not exist until Moses. The word Sabbath is never found in the book of Genesis, and it was in Exodus 16 at Mt. Sinai that it was first kept. The Ten Commandments were given to Moses, and they were for a set period of time. They are called statues, ordinances, and decrees in the New Testament and were abolished in their old form. Col 2:14, Eph 2:15. Romans 7:1-7 comes right out and uses the same word for abolished of the 10 Commandments that Eph 2:15 uses of what Sabbath keeps say incorrectly is the ceremonial law. 2 Cor 3, Gal 3:24-25 all say the same thing. Now don't get me wrong, we are not allowed to murder, steal, and use the Lord's name in vain. God wrote the new commandments on our heart and they are much tougher than the old ones written in stone. As a child of God you will want to follow this new way of living based on a life of love. The old abolished way forced people to obey the commandments then so they wouldn't destroy each other.

The New Testament books written to the Church are rather silent when it comes to Sabbath day worship. In fact, if the Apostle Paul had gone directly to the gentiles (all non-Jews) as God had told him, there would be even less written in Acts about him attending a service on Saturday.

In Colossians 2:16-17 it is very clear that no one is to judge you on the matter of the Sabbath. The Sabbath day was ONLY a shadow of things to come, and it only had symbolic value. The word Sabbath in this scripture is SINGULAR referring to the one single weekly Sabbath day, and not plural referring to the many smaller Sabbath feasts the Jews kept under the ceremonial law. The word has been wrongly transliterated by Sabbath keeps as a plural to say that the smaller Sabbaths are over and not the weekly Saturday ritual and that is absolutely WRONG. No problem going to church on Saturday but don't do it as an observance to an old code, or you will be adding to the freedom that Christ purchased for you making your new life in Him ineffective.

Universal record of history (75-500AD) is in 100% unanimous agreement that Christians never kept the Sabbath and have always worshiped on Sunday. Also there is 100% unanimous agreement that Christians ate the Lord's Supper every Sunday in the tradition of Acts 20:7. Also, there is 100% unanimous agreement that Christians always called Sunday the Lord's Day because they said; this was the day Jesus rose from the dead. Confusion started when the Church moved away from the teaching of the apostles. Much like religious Jews tried to get the Church to observe other traditions like circumcision, they saw our freedom in Christ and wanted to add to it. Sabbath observers falsely say we worship on Sunday because we worship the sun. That type of reasoning would then say they worship on Saturday because they worship Saturn.

We go to church not out of religious duty, but to fellowship with God and our fellow believers. We go to be a blessing, to serve, to do our part to get the gospel (good news) out to the world. Now everyday 24/7 is to be kept holy, as was the Sabbath of old. Anytime where two or three are gathered in Jesus name there He is in the midst of us, and we are going to have church. Matthew 18:22 if that scripture is true (and it is) then none of use could ever gather together on any other day than the Sabbath, because Jesus will show up, He keeps His word. Jesus then would be violating the old Sabbath law to meet on Saturday only. Thank God He freed us from the Sabbath law.
