I am writing the answer to your question with a new sense of vigor, boldness and concern. I am not trying to be politically correct, evasive, and vague or pull any punches. Here is what the Bible says about how a person is saved.

On a recent stole down Bernard Avenue I was approached by a well dressed man who asked me if I was interested in coming to his church. Having been newly challenged by our latest guest speaker to make peoples eternity a priority, I asked him this question: "Sir if you were to die tonight, and I'm not saying you are going to, where do you believe that you would go?" He immediately answered, "Heaven". I then asked him, "Why would Jesus let you in?" To which he responded, "Because I have done good works". I told him that in no uncertain terms that was not enough. Salvation is ONLY based on his decision to make Jesus Christ the Lord of his life (more on that later).

Based on the answer I gave him he realized that he had better throw Jesus into the mix and he added, "oh yeah we believe in that too." To which I replied, "but that was NOT your answer to salvation just a minute ago, it was 'works' and lots of them."

What does it mean to be blessed? PDF Print E-mail

Have you ever heard the saying that "everything is coming up roses". Sounds like a pipe dream in this shaky world, a world with such hurt, anger, disappointment.

There is no one that really seems to have any answers for the major problems humanity is facing.

What if there was an answer and somebody that could lead you to victory in the midst of chaos? Well there is! From the beginning of time God has a proven plan for every man. In Genesis 1:28 God's spoken word over His creation was that He would Bless them. That charge has never been rescinded. Religion has squashed it by adding its own opinions and ideals. There are those that are finding out that the gospel (good news) declares that the Blessings of God are to fall on those that walk uprightly. Everyone is welcome.

What does it mean to be Blessed? It means that the favor of God goes before you and works things out before you get there. It means that the fullness (full supply) of what you need for others and for yourself will be there. It means complete satisfaction, safety, freedom in the midst of this worlds system.

Which day is the Sabbath? PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 01 January 2008 00:00

It is very clear from Scripture that Saturday was the day of the Sabbath. There is no such thing as turning your Sunday into a Sabbath. Many Christians have tried to pull scriptures together to justify keeping a Sabbath on a Sunday. It doesn't work, and it should not be a concern to any born-again Christian to keep the Sabbath anyways. Never ever was a gentile Christian ever told by the Lord or any other New Testament book to keep a Sabbath the ways the Jews of the old covenant did. Those that teach Sabbath keeping are falsely adding an abolished system to the Law of Christ. Christians keep the Law of Christ which is superior, 1 Cor. 9:21, Gal 6:2.

Some Sabbath keeps say that Adam, Noah, and Abraham kept the Sabbath, yet the Ten Commandments and the Sabbath did not exist until Moses. The word Sabbath is never found in the book of Genesis, and it was in Exodus 16 at Mt. Sinai that it was first kept. The Ten Commandments were given to Moses, and they were for a set period of time. They are called statues, ordinances, and decrees in the New Testament and were abolished in their old form. Col 2:14, Eph 2:15. Romans 7:1-7 comes right out and uses the same word for abolished of the 10 Commandments that Eph 2:15 uses of what Sabbath keeps say incorrectly is the ceremonial law. 2 Cor 3, Gal 3:24-25 all say the same thing. Now don't get me wrong, we are not allowed to murder, steal, and use the Lord's name in vain. God wrote the new commandments on our heart and they are much tougher than the old ones written in stone. As a child of God you will want to follow this new way of living based on a life of love. The old abolished way forced people to obey the commandments then so they wouldn't destroy each other.

Do human beings truly have a free will or are we pretty well predestined to our lot in life? PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 01 November 2007 00:00

How important it is to understand predestination and the will of God for every man. Taught incorrectly, predestination sounds somewhat like this; that God has this certain plan and He has selected a few people and the rest He has rejected. If you are one of the fortunate ones, because of predestination, you get selected and get to be with Him throughout all eternity. If not - tough luck.

There is more bad news in this teaching. In it, God can do whatever He wants to, anytime He wants to, to whomever He wants to (and it is always something evil). But you better not complain because He is testing you so just grin and bear it, or else.

I grew up under teaching like that. It caused great fear in my life. I didn't want to get married or have children because God could kill them or allow them to be killed anytime and take them to heaven for the choir. It was said that God knows best, and that it was His sovereign will to work something out in your life.
